Happenings at your library....

Events celebrating 120 years of service to Cloquet:

Monday, October 12 - 6 p.m. Cloquet City Band will kick off our anniversary celebration with a concert of music from around 1900. If weather permits, we will have the concert outside (please bring a lawn chair). If the weather is cold or unpleasant, we will have the concert indoors. Refreshments will follow the concert.

Wednesday, October 14 - 11 a.m. Alisa Magallon from the Minnesota Opera will sing/read a preschool book about opera. An opera related craft will be provided.

Saturday, October 17, 10:30 a.m. - Marlene Wisuri will give a presentation on little know facts about the fires of 1918.

Monday, October 19, 6:30 p.m.- Arna Rennan will perform "Music of the Immigrants" with songs about immigration, longing for the homeland as well as vaudeville comedy tunes.


Fall Story Times at the Cloquet Public Library will begin in September and continue through the first week of December.

Preschool Story Times (ages 3-5) will be at 10 a.m., Wednesdays, Sept. 9 through Dec. 2.

LapSit Story Times (ages 0-2) will be at 10 a.m., Thursdays, Sept. 10 through Dec. 3.

Join us for stories, songs, play and good times. As part of our story times we will include Story Time Plus. Families are welcome to stay in the Story Time Room until noon each day for extra play and socialization. Parents are also welcome to bring their own snacks or lunch for this time.

All children’s programs are free of charge and open to the public. For more information, call 879-1531.

Bring your Legos and start building!  The Cloquet Public Library will resume its monthly Legos Afterschool Club for kids. The group meets at 4 p.m. on the last Monday of the month during the school year beginning Sept. 29. New kids are welcome any time. If you have any questions, call 879-1531.
