STORY TIMES AT THE LIBRARY

OPEN STAGE STORY TIMES FOR AUGUST
 AT THE CLOQUET PUBLIC LIBRARY

High interest to continue story times through August has spurred innovation at the Cloquet Public Library.  A special month of Story Times (ages 0-5) is scheduled for once a week at 10 a.m., Thursdays, August 6, 13, 20 and 27.

The “Open Stage” format will ask independent readers to take charge, bringing a book or activity they want to share with the group. A staff member will be on hand simply to facilitate the sessions. Story Times will allow interested independent readers (youth, parents, grandparents, childcare providers, etc.) to share their story time skills and hints with the group, In other words, whoever shows up takes charge and goes with the flow.

Families are welcome to stay in the Story Time Room until noon for extra play and socialization. Parents are also welcome to bring their own snacks or lunch for this time. If this format works, we will offer it again during story time break between fall and winter.

Children who are also interested in extending the Summer Reading Challenge through August are encouraged to pick up a new log to keep track of their reading. Participants will receive a certificate at the end of the month for their additional efforts.

All children’s programs are free of charge and open to the public. For more information, call 879-1531.

LEGOS CLUB AT LIBRARY
Bring your Legos and start building!  The Cloquet Public Library will resume its monthly Legos Afterschool Club for kids. The group meets at 4 p.m. on the last Monday of the month during the school year beginning Sept. 29. New kids are welcome any time. If you have any questions, call 879-1531.
